In July, 2024, Saejowi was shedding light on North Korean human rights situation through our theater called "Small Happiness" (작은 행복), the second theater play that is dedicated to this crucial issue.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Unification and hosted by Saejowi (led by CEO Shin Mi-nyeo), the play debuted at Yongsan Middle School in Daegu on July 2, 2024, followed by Iri Dong Middle School in Iksan on July 3, 2024. Over the month, the theater visited 12 schools nationwide to raise awareness about human rights in North Korea and North Korean's settlement process and obstacles in South Korea.
Since 2014, Saejowi has been consistently staging plays on North Korean settlement in South Korea and unification. Our 15th production aimed to engage over 10,000 students, inspiring them to care about Korean peninsula unification and North Korean human rights.
The theater crew will be back August 16, 2024, to visit another six schools in the South Korean Gyeonggi-do province. While the name of the theater will change to "Hope" (소망) the message and topics will stay the same. We look forward to this next step!
