'Memories of Jagang Province' II
JULY 20 — Saejowi hosted the second showing of a joint play and lecture about the North Korean resettlement process at Suwon City Hall. 'Memories of Jagang Province' was sponsored by the City of Suwon located in Gyeonggi Province, which sees the highest number of North Korean refugees in South Korea. The event started with a lecture that described Saejowi’s mission and detailed the realities of the North Korean refugee resettlement process. It was followed by a play about the resettlement process and the turbulent emotions refugees must face in undergoing it. Performers consisted of both North Korean refugees and professional actors. The night saw considerable success, with over 300 city hall workers and Suwon residents attending the event. The next play in the series is expected to be held in October 2018.
