Translation Intern
Seoul, South Korea
As a Translation Intern, you’ll support the team in translating documents, assist in the creation of our annual reports, and support our major conferences and events.
Internship duration:
- Starting and end date are negotiable
- A minimum commitment of 20 working hours per week is preferred
- Lunch will be provided
Qualifications:
- Excellent English and Korean written and verbal communication skills required
- General interest in East Asian politics and refugee issues
Who you’ll work with:
- You will work with Saejowi’s main office in Seoul. Our organization deals mainly with North Korean defectors, so you will have direct, first-hand access to work with the defectors that drop in and out of our office.
- Previous interns have used Saejowi’s resources to conduct interviews and gather information for their research papers and projects.
- You will also have the opportunity to work closely with our senior advisors who have extensive work experience in Cheong Wa Dae, investment banking, mobile gaming, and lobbying industries.
What you’ll do:
- Translate documents from Korean to English and vice versa
- Support directors in compiling annual reports and donor information
- Assist in the development of our major conferences and events
You will develop extensive knowledge of the North Korean refugee situation, as well as the general situation on the Korean peninsula.
